10 lessons learned in the Hospitality Industry in 2020

[Replay]

"Everyone has a plan 'till they get punched in the mouth."

-Mike Tyson

I guess it's fair to say that most of us felt (or still feel) like 2020 has beaten us up. Calling this year a "challenging year" seems like an understatement.

All of a sudden, we lost our jobs, saw our businesses struggle, and watched as the whole world tried to understand how to fix the damage. We all had our share of frustration and sadness over the past months.

We all needed to adapt, reinvent ourselves, and get a plan B (or C). It was just not possible to continue doing life as normal. 2020 was like Tyson punching us!

Therefore, the last Hotel Cast TV episode of the year is about the hospitality professionals that changed jobs, companies, job positions, business strategies or moved on to a completely new path. They really put up a fight!

Most importantly, they always kept their spirit up (as much as possible), helping others, and finding ways to improve their skills. They kept going.

So it's a true pleasure for me, Paula, to have these people on the show. I asked them to share their top lessons learned in 2020 and I'm sure they will inspire and motivate you. Here they are:

Amy Brandford: Regional Sales Manager (UK) for GuestRevu.

Calvin Stovall: Chief Experience Officer of ICONIC Presentations, LLC.

Cristal Bukler: Strategic Partnership Manager at Asksuite.

David Arraya: General Manager at Auberge Resorts Collection

Paula Carreirão: Content Manager at Asksuite and Hospitality Expert

Even if the battle isn't over yet, we need to remind ourselves that it will be someday. So, for now, it's a great opportunity to grow in many areas of our lives. Let's get ready for what 2021 has in store for us.

Be inspired to keep going or make the changes you are struggling to overcome.

We are in this together!
